Louisianians make second trip to Japan in several months to talk to company executives about the impacts their plant has had on residents’ health. After being turned away, they are now hoping to generate enough buzz to put pressure on company executives and shareholders to make a change.

When a Japanese-owned chemical plant in a Louisiana town was found to be spreading cancer and other diseases to nearby residents, local activists journeyed to Japan to confront the owners and were refused a hearing.
